Biography
Gustavo was born in Sao Paulo and moved to Fortaleza when he was a child. After graduating in journalism he began to make documentary videos, and then switched to photography. In 2004 he got his first job in photojournalism for the newspaper Diário do Nordeste. Around the same time, he began working on personal projects, trying to discover more about Fortaleza and its people, and focusing on the relationship between the two. Over the years Gustavo has done assignments for the United Nations, Le Monde, Folha de São Paulo, Veja, Poder, as well as some advertising work. Gustavo now lives in Rio de Janeiro and works as a staff photographer for O Globo and Revista O Globo, as he continues to work on his personal projects.
